Pro Bono
Access Pro Bono is a non-profit
organization that is committed to providing free legal advice
for those in need. In order to make these clinics a success, Access Pro Bono
needs the help of volunteers like you. People of all backgrounds,
with a multitude of work and education experiences are required
to keep the program running smoothly. There are a number
of ways you can get involved, including:
Administrative The heart and soul of Access Pro Bono is its many volunteers. Their help may include: typing & correcting documents, liasing with social agencies & lawyers, booking or referring clients, or dictating for the Society. Positions are available from M-F 9am-5pm. This position requires 2-3 hours a week. Client Call Volunteer We have a roster of volunteers who are responsible for client inquires. This role would involve learning all about Access Pro Bono so as to intelligently answer potential client questions, referring them to various clinics and booking of clients to our Pro Bono Clinics. This position requires about 2 hours a week. Clinic Assistants Volunteers are needed to attend clinic sessions to ensure they run smoothly and provide assistance to lawyers and/or clients where necessary. This position may also include confirming client bookings and sending client information to the volunteer lawyers. Most clinics run during business hours (Monday-Friday 9-6pm)This position requires 3-4 hours a week.
Community Reps Volunteers here sustain and promote awareness for Access Pro Bono within their community/region. Awareness and promotion are also maintained by using creative means. This position requires 2-3 hours a week. Computer Tech & Development Help is needed in updating, expanding and maintaining the Society's computer devices, network, and website.
