How much time are you looking for from volunteers?

Our volunteer lawyers donate about 2 hours a month in free legal service. (that is about $400-$1000 of legal advice monthly!). For non-lawyer volunteers we ask about 2-3 hours a week of your time. Most positions require a commitment of 6 months. If you work in a clinic, the hours will be specific, but many of our positions have no particular time frames.

What types of volunteer roles do you have?

The volunteer categories section of this site lays out nine different roles that our volunteers play. But even within those roles there are many different ways those roles are played out. For example: Neighbourhood Liaison, is a community role Promoting Access Pro Bono to the social agencies in the areas around our clinics.

Please read through our "volunteering with us" page. If you are intereted in volunteering with Access Justice, please submit your application onlineClick. We generally expect our volunteers will be 18 years of age or older.

I can't help during the day. Is that a problem?

To some degree, it will limit the choice of role you might be able to play, but a number of our clinics are after normal working hours and we have numerous online or administrative roles that can take place at any time.
